Across our business, we are working to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, with a long-term goal of reaching Net Zero by 2050.
Through robust measurement and transparent reporting, we are aligning with the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge to meet bold, yet achievable, milestones. Working with our stakeholders, our plan focuses on five key areas.

at Big 5 Global
- Unused food is donated to food banks.
- Replacing plastic bottles with glass and providing water dispensers.
- We opt for green menus (locally sourced, organic and plant-based food options) and promote these to our exhibitors.
- 30% of catering vehicles run on biofuel.
- Supporting zero-plastic operations by using rPET (recycled PET) bottles for packaged water.
- Energy saved through LED lighting, motion sensors and solar power in select halls.
- A/C optimized for comfort and efficiency throughout event.
- Providing a bottle-free Dubai Can water fountain at the venue.
- Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) are available throughout the venue to encourage recycling.
- Providing color-coded bins to collect different types of waste, such as recyclables, food waste and general waste.
- QR codes on the bins to raise visitor awareness about waste segregation.
- Hosting the event at a Green Globe-certified venue/destination.
- Printed materials replaced with QR codes and Big 5 Global app.
- Reusable signage with modular components.
- Plastic-free badges with recycled lanyards.
- Offering an interactive feedback feature where visitors can share their thoughts on sustainability efforts through surveys.
- Encouraging the use of Dubai Metro, public buses, Careem Bikes and other forms of public transport.
- Reusable shell scheme and sustainable stand-build options for exhibitors.
- Optimized shipping and biofuel-powered vehicles.
- Battery-operated forklifts used onsite.
- Durable aluminum and fabric materials reused across events.
- Highlighting local sourcing of materials and partnerships, with 89% of suppliers being local.
